In 2002 Crosswind began offering free comics to any prison inmate, prison chaplain, or juvenile in detention who requested them in writing. The response was tremendous. To date, over 150,000 inmates have read our comics. Over and over chaplains write to tell us the same thing: Comics work! They are effective where other methods of evangelism are not. Why? Three reasons:

1• Quality artwork is always compelling.
2• The personal testimonies portrayed in Amazing True Life Stories depict real people, and you can't argue with someone who says, "God rescued me."
3• Illiteracy and lack of education make reading text-only literature difficult or impossible for a large percentage of prisoners.

The Message for Children:

Crosswind Comics began as a way to impact kids in the low-income housing developments of the inner city on a regular basis.

We continue to actively distribute free comics among youth-at-risk through youth pastors, chaplains at juvenile detention centers, and via established programs like "Kids' Quest."

World Impact:

The Amazing Gospel is designed to help pastors and individuals reach their community ... here in the U.S. and abroad. With translations in English, Spanish, Hatian Creole, and Nepali already completed, we are also working on versions in Chinese, German, French, Indonesian, Swahili, and more!

The beauty of the graphic novel is that the pictures tell much of the story. This is important in places where illiteracy and lack of education have limited the effectivenss of Bible-distribution. After all, one must be able to read in order to read the Bible.

By working closely with pastors in third-world, Latin-American, Muslim, and communist countries, we are currently able to distribute The Amazing Gospel to roughly one million spiritually hungry readers! The only barrier to widespread implementation is the cost of high-volume printing.
